Veronica "Pooh" Nash

WeCare For Mamas Counselor

A native of Chattanooga, TN, Pooh is a product of the Hamilton County School System. After graduating from high school, Pooh attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. Pooh’s passion for helping people led her to further her education even more and she moved back to Chattanooga where she earned her Master’s degree in Education from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. After matriculating for the second time from college, Pooh’s journey into school counseling began! Pooh worked as school counselor in Catoosa County Schools in Georgia for three years before returning to Hamilton County Schools to work as a school counselor. Pooh worked in one of the toughest high schools in Hamilton County Schools for six years and absolutely LOVED IT! Connecting with students who are otherwise disadvantaged became an even more prevalent passion for Pooh. Because of her ability to quickly gain rapport with students, parents and teachers, Pooh was reassigned to work at the Alternative School Program. Pooh worked at the Alternative School for five years all while spreading her common sense nuggets to everyone.

One of the reasons that Pooh was such a great asset to students is because of her real approach to everyday situations. Pooh believes in “meeting people where they are” when it comes to achieving growth at any level. Pooh furthered her Common Sense Crusade with a series of videos on social media which quickly went viral. The most noted video to date is the “Stay out of the Shark’s House” video in which Pooh simply described the ocean as being the shark’s house! This video catapulted Pooh into national stardom and she was in popular demand not only for her common sense tactics, but also her counseling expertise. The national Discovery Channel pursued Pooh and granted her a reality show on The Learning Channel (TLC) titled “She’s In Charge!” The series aired in March 2017.

While Pooh is very passionate about helping people she is even more passionate about her son, Alden. Alden has Autism and Pooh has made it her mission to equip Alden with the tools needed for him to be successful in life. No Excuses!

Pooh is devoted to changing lives, one common sense smile at a time!
